In an industry crowded with quick trends and fleeting promises, few founders stand out for their commitment to both scientific integrity and ethical craftsmanship. Kinny Nguyen, the co-visionary behind Collagen Laborés and VinaVille Farm, has carved an unconventional path—one that merges biotechnology, sustainable farming, and a deeply personal mission to elevate wellness from the inside out.

What began as a fascination with cellular health evolved into two complementary ventures: Collagen Laborés, known for its research-driven formulations, and VinaVille Farm, a regenerative agricultural space where many of the brand’s core ingredients originate. Together, these companies embody Nguyen’s belief that beauty and vitality start long before a product reaches the consumer—they begin at the source.

With a relentless focus on transparency, innovation, and nature-aligned production, Nguyen is redefining how modern wellness brands operate. In this exclusive feature, we sit down with him to discuss the journey, the science, and the purpose behind his growing enterprise.

What inspired you to create Collagen Laborés and VinaVille Farm, and how did the idea evolve into two distinct yet complementary brands?
Collagen Laborés and VinaVille Farm were born from the same realization: true beauty and wellness cannot exist without purity at the source. I saw a gap in the market where people wanted high-performance collagen products but had no visibility into how ingredients were grown, harvested, or processed. That sparked the idea of building a system—one brand rooted in advanced formulation, the other in regenerative agriculture.

Over time, these ideas naturally evolved into two entities that support each other. Collagen Laborés focuses on scientifically driven skincare and ingestibles, while VinaVille Farm ensures that every ingredient begins with ethical, nutrient-rich, sustainably cultivated raw materials. Together, they create a closed-loop ecosystem where innovation meets integrity.

Can you share the mission or core philosophy that drives both brands, and how that differentiates you in the beauty and wellness space?
Our shared mission is simple: science you can trust, purity you can trace. Both brands are built on the belief that effective wellness starts long before a product touches your skin—it begins in the soil, the environment, and the methods used to extract and preserve active compounds.

While many beauty and wellness brands highlight results, we emphasize the full lifecycle of our products—from farm to formulation. That transparency, combined with rigorous scientific validation, is what sets us apart.

What was the biggest challenge you faced in formulating your collagen-based products, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge was creating formulas that were both highly bioavailable and exceptionally stable without relying on synthetic fillers. Collagen, by nature, can degrade easily if not handled correctly. We overcame this by investing heavily in research and working with biochemists to develop proprietary stabilization techniques that preserve collagen peptides without compromising purity.

How do you ensure ingredient integrity and scientific credibility in your formulations?
Every ingredient passes through a multi-tier vetting process—origin verification, purity testing, and third-party clinical evaluation. We collaborate with scientific partners to validate efficacy and ensure every claim is backed by data. Nothing goes into our products unless we can trace it, test it, and prove it works.

Collagen is a crowded market—what unique innovations or technologies set Collagen Laborés apart from competitors?
Our advantage lies in our integration of agricultural control with laboratory precision. Because we work directly with VinaVille Farm, we can customize nutrient profiles in the soil and plant feed, resulting in higher-potency extracts. In our lab, we utilize micro-encapsulation and enzymatic hydrolysis techniques that enhance absorption far beyond conventional collagen products. This dual-innovation model—farm + lab—is something very few brands can replicate.

How does VinaVille Farm’s approach to sustainable farming influence the quality, purity, or sourcing behind your products?
We practice regenerative farming, which restores rather than depletes the land. Healthy soil produces cleaner, more nutrient-dense ingredients. By eliminating pesticides, nurturing biodiversity, and prioritizing closed-loop water systems, we ensure that every raw material begins with uncompromised purity. That translates directly into the quality and effectiveness of our finished products.

What role does the farm play in the overall supply chain, and how hands-on are you in its day-to-day or seasonal operations?
VinaVille Farm is the heart of our supply chain. It allows us to control our inputs from the moment a seed touches the soil. While we have an incredible team running day-to-day operations, I’m deeply involved in seasonal planning, crop selection, and sustainability strategies. Being present on the farm keeps me grounded and ensures our practices stay aligned with our core values.

Can you talk about your commitment to clean ingredients and sustainable practices, both in manufacturing and agriculture?
Clean beauty isn't only about what we exclude—it’s about how responsibly ingredients are grown and processed. At VinaVille Farm, we follow organic and regenerative methods. At Collagen Laborés, we use energy-efficient manufacturing, minimal water processing, and recyclable or biodegradable packaging wherever possible. Our goal is to operate in a way that honors both human health and the planet.

How do you approach traceability and transparency to build trust with your customers?
Every batch we produce has a complete traceability report—from the specific harvest date at VinaVille Farm to lab testing results and formulation logs. Customers can scan QR codes to see exactly where their product came from and how it was made. We believe transparency is not a marketing tool; it's a responsibility.

What is one mistake or unexpected obstacle you encountered as a founder, and what lesson did it teach you?
One challenge was underestimating the time and complexity of merging agricultural operations with scientific manufacturing. They are two very different worlds with very different timelines. This taught me patience—and the importance of building teams who excel in areas where I am still learning.

How do you balance being both an innovator in skincare/nutrition and a steward of agricultural sustainability?
For me, the two roles are inseparable. Innovation means nothing if it ignores the environment, and sustainability loses impact if the end product isn’t effective. Balancing them requires constant communication between our lab and our farm, ensuring that every decision honors both performance and planetary health.

Where do you envision Collagen Laborés and VinaVille Farm in the next five years, and what new projects or breakthroughs are you most excited about?
In five years, I envision both brands expanding globally while staying true to our vertically integrated model. We’re currently developing next-generation collagen technologies that merge plant-based adaptogens with peptide science, as well as new regenerative farming systems that increase soil nutrient density naturally.

Most exciting of all is our goal to create a fully transparent, closed-loop ecosystem—one where every product reflects our commitment to science, sustainability, and the belief that wellness begins at the source. GR8T
